SMS has invested considerable amount of money to provide state of the art pollution control equipment to minimise the impact of its activities on the environment to the barest minimum. In this process, SMS has become the first bulk drug manufacturing unit in Hyderabad to install incineration systems for gaseous waste, liquid wastes as well as solid wastes.

The modernized state of art Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) with capacity of 1,00,000 Lts / day serves to meet the chemically and biologically specified standards. The effluents generated are treated at very high temperatures and are thermally oxidized and the treated effluents are utilized for the green belt development in the company premises.

Environment protection is integrated from product development stage itself with environment pollution potential being one of the guiding parameters in developing the route of synthesis and also choosing the raw materials
