RESEARCH FACILITIES

Presently two research centers are operational at SMS apart from the research centers functional at all the manufacturing units for solving the unit specific process and product issues.

 

RESEARCH CENTER I


A state of art Global Corporate Research Center has been established in Hyderabad to cater to in-house research needs and for focusing on CRAMS

Research Labs


40,000 Sft of research lab area
20 labs including a dedicated oncology lab with containment facilities
Each lab to have 10 to 12 research chemists
Each lab would be headed by a PhD group leader guided by research center head
Chemists would be graduates / post graduates with relevant experience

 

Analytical Development Block


The research center is supported by dedicated Analytical Development block (22,000 Sft.)


Self contained with all modern analytical equipment
Experienced staff providing analytical services support for product development
Equipment includes
 
  • FT-IR and UV-VIS spectrophotometers
  • Gas Chromatography (with liquid auto sampler)
  • Gas Chromatography (with Head space auto sampler)
  • HPLC (with PDA, RI, and Variable Wavelength Detectors)
  • Rapid Resolution Liquid Chromotagraphy
  • Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC)
  • Polarimeter
  • Potentiometric Titrators
  • Stability chambers etc

 

KILO LAB

 

A kilo lab with all glass systems is available for scaling up products to kilo level after successful completion of the gram batches in labs.

PILOT PLANT

 

R&D center also includes a fully equipped pilot plant


Pilot plant area of 3200 Sft. for validation batches
Contains all glass systems and SS reactors (upto 500L)
Includes clean room facility
Complies with cGMP standards
Can opt for DMF filing
